A permanent vacancy has arisen in our Department for a consultant clinical psychologist to work within Care Experienced Team within our Child and Adolescent Psychology Specialty. This post will lead an existing multi-disciplinary clinicians in the delivery of mental health services for children, their families and/or their carers, who are care experienced. Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and energetic individual who wants to play key roles in offering evidence-based psychological interventions to this population. The role will involve consultation, therapy provision and strategic development and planning for this client group. This post will involve supervision and line management of other staff within the team and within the wide specialty. The role also includes working with the other consultants to provide support to Head of Specialty in provision of psychological therapies services for children and young people and their families.
The Department, which now has a complement of around 90 staff, has psychologists and psychological therapists in all major specialties and is a friendly, supportive and lively place of work. We currently have strong links with Edinburgh and Stirling/Dundee Universities and take trainees from the Edinburgh Doctorate course and from the MSc course in Stirling/Dundee. We also provide placements and supervision for trainee CBT and other psychological therapists. The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time.
