Job overview
These posts are for a Trust Doctor to support the Medical Same Day Emergency Care Units for a Fixed Term contract. This is a full-time post and the post holder. The rota pattern is a mix of long days where the rota provides cover for a 7 day service.
The Trust is based on two acute sites with most acute medical services and specialties duplicated on each site. The acute stroke unit is based at Calderdale Hospital and the specialist gastroenterology and oncology/haematology wards are based at Huddersfield.
Main duties of the job
There are weekly Medical Grand round teaching including journal club and Core medical teaching sessions in the Education Centre that covers a wide range of topics. There is separate training for non-technical skills such as handover and communication skills. CHFT has a well-equipped Clinical Skills Training Room with simulation mannequins for procedures such as chest drain insertion and central venous cannulation.
The Trust would encourage and support a doctor with obtaining their membership and any post holder preparing for MRCP and PACES will be supported. In addition we will support doctors with the sign off of competencies to allow individuals to apply for higher training.

Qualifications
* MRCP (both parts) or equivalent
* Applicants must be Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise
