The Opportunity
Are you a seasoned Transport Manager with a passion for logistics, operational efficiency, driving change, and leading people? Do you love working for a business driven by family values and high-quality products? This could be the right opportunity for you to manage the delivery of our high-quality products to major retailers and smaller outlets across the UK.
As Transport Manager, you will have experience in Chilled Food Distribution and oversee our hubs in the Southwest (Bristol and Callington), managing a fleet of 31 trucks, 46 trailers, and a team of 66 drivers and 12 warehouse operatives.
The Person We Need
We believe success is built upon collaboration and diverse perspectives. We welcome candidates passionate about working together to achieve greatness. You will bring the following skills and experience:
* Flexibility: Willing to travel between Bristol, Callington, and Leicester.
* Hold a National CPC and have solid knowledge of HGV and Driver compliance.
* Have a Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely.
* Understanding of Food Safety related to short-life chilled products and the chilled chain; HACCP Level 3 qualification preferred.
* Confident leader with high moral values who can motivate people positively.
What You Will Be Doing:
* Operator License Responsibility: Be a named holder on the company’s operator license for Callington and Bristol, ensuring all legal and regulatory obligations are met.
* Product and People Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to BRC standards and Health and Safety requirements.
* Lead and develop the team of Shift Managers.
* Manage stakeholders and third parties by liaising with suppliers and customers.
* Track and report on KPIs, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
* Manage costs and control budgets.
