Mech Tech Professionals are currently recruiting for competent Manufacturing Equipment Technicians to work at an advanced manufacturing facility in Newport on a full-time basis. Our client, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of semiconductors and passive electronic components, are seeking skilled professionals to join their expanding team as soon as possible. With the nature of this role, the Manufacturing Equipment Technician will wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in a controlled manufacturing environment. Permanent Position Shift Pattern/Working Hours: Rotating 12-hour shift pattern across both day and night shifts - inclusive of Shift allowance (depending on selected shift pattern). Each 12-hour shift includes three breaks: * A 30-minute break during the first half of the shift * A 45-minute main meal break * A 30-minute break during the second half of the shift Exact break times will be advised by the Team Leader or Manager and may vary depending on operational requirements. Overview: As a Manufacturing Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising production equipment within a high-technology manufacturing environment. Working as part of a dedicated engineering and production team, you will ensure maximum equipment uptime, product quality, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out first level of fault recovery and tool health improvement activities * Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and troubleshoot equipment issues during shift hours * Adhere to documented procedures and work instructions for equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs). * Collaborate closely with Equipment and Process Engineers to resolve online manufacturing issues and maintain optimal production flow. * Support equipment experiment/improvement actions and projects. Requirements: * Educated to — or currently working towards — a BTEC, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline. * Ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical documentation, and to produce clear and concise observation or maintenance reports. * Familiarity with modern manufacturing principles and methodologies, including Just-in-Time (JIT), KANBAN, Zero Defects, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Total Quality Management (TQM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). * Understanding of cleanroom protocols and environmental controls
