We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education, supporting young children in developing key skills and a love of learning during their first year(s) at school. As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support daily learning activities. You will provide 1:1 or small-group support, assist with lesson preparation, and help create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Your role will be essential in ensuring children feel confident, engaged, and motivated to learn. Key Responsibilities Support the EYFS teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children as required Assist in planning and preparing engaging, play-based learning activities Observe and record children’s development to inform planning and assessment Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence Support daily routines including snack times, outdoor play, and personal care Promote social interaction, communication skills, and emotional development Work collaboratively with EYFS colleagues and other school staff Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience working with young children, ideally in an EYFS or nursery setting Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic Have a good understanding of early childhood development Be proactive, adaptable, and reliable Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children The school is located in Enfield, with good transport links and a welcoming, friendly community.
