IT Support Specialist | Nottingham | Permanent | Salary £27,000
Cherry Professional is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support for hardware, software, and network systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills to resolve IT-related issues promptly, minimize downtime, and ensure continuous operation on the shop floor.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide first-line and second-line support for IT issues, including hardware, software, and networking problems for office and shopfloor staff.
2. Set up and configure computer systems, servers, printers, and mobile devices.
3. Monitor and maintain local area networks, Internet access, and systems security.
4. Assist with diagnosing and resolving network-related issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi) in collaboration with the IT team.
5. Conduct regular maintenance of computer systems and IT equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
6. Support the implementation and maintenance of manufacturing-related software (EFACS).
7. Assist in software updates, patches, and system improvements for both office and shop floor systems.
8. Provide training and support to staff to enhance their ability to resolve routine IT issues independently.
9. Create, maintain, and publish relevant support documentation to assist users in resolving incidents and service requests efficiently, promoting self-sufficiency.
Ideal Candidate:
* 1-3 years of experience in IT support
* Familiarity with IT infrastructure, networks, and security protocols
* Experience with 1st and 2nd line support
* Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, and standard office applications
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
