Description
We are seeking a highly organised and student-focused Additional Needs Officer / Special Exam Arrangements Officer to join our Additional Learning Support team at Sandwell College.
Working closely with the Additional Learning Support team, EHCP Officers, academic staff and external agencies, you will coordinate and implement appropriate support programmes and legally compliant exam access arrangements, including extra time, readers and scribes.
Please note this role will require working from our Central St Michael's campus on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise closely with EHCP Officers and the ALS team to provide seamless daily support for learners
* Assess student needs and coordinate tailored support strategies and programmes
* Develop and manage pre-enrolment assessments for students with additional needs
* Support EHCP reviews and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current legislation
* Gather and review evidence of learning difficulties and disabilities to determine eligibility for exam access arrangements
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* GCSE English and Maths (grade 4 or above or equivalent)
* Minimum Level 3 qualification
* Degree or relevant professional qualification desirable
* Experience in exam administration within an educational setting
* Experience interpreting and applying regulations, ideally JCQ
* Experience working within Further Education and/or SEN support desirable
