Responsibilities
* Lead and manage projects focused on developing predictive models and other tools for collections optimisation and fraud detection across Cards and Asset Finance customer behaviours, repayment patterns and fraud trends.
* Identify opportunities to improve collections strategies and fraud prevention.
* Develop and incorporate self-learning capabilities closely with Collections, Fraud Risk and Finance teams to translate analytical insights into actionable business.
* Support junior analysts, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
Qualifications & Experience
* 5 years experience developing credit scorecards and other classification models within financial institutions.
* Proficient with Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Statsmodels, Matplotlib) and SQL for data extraction, manipulation and analysis from relational databases.
* Strong theoretical knowledge of algorithms such as regression, tree-based methods (e.g. random forests, gradient boosting) and neural networks.
* Experience with Credit Reference Agency data and the ability to explore and utilise unconventional data sources to drive analytical insights.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence non-technical audiences on model governance and regulatory standards (e.g. IFRS9, PRA).
* Exposure to cloud-based analytics with machine learning techniques for fraud and optimisation techniques (linear programming, heuristics, simulation).
