Job Summary
This stores operative position is within a flying squadron in the Ministry of Defence (MOD). The Sqn Tool Stores or ‘Issuing Centre’ functions as the centralised secure hold for all maintenance tools, from Test and Measuring equipment to on-aircraft handheld tools. It is the first level within an effective tool control system and is essential to ensuring legal compliance with orders and the Quality Management System of the organisation. This dynamic position is critical to the safe maintenance and operation of aircraft underpinning defence output. The daily management of this store involves activities such as accounting and controlling transactions, scheduling maintenance, and undertaking continuous improvement.
Job Description
The Tools Storekeeper will be responsible to Engineering Management and will undertake tasks in accordance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Policy, including:
1. Managing daily operations of the Issuing Centre, including issuing/returning tools and equipment and their maintenance.
2. Overseeing equipment inventories and maintenance of tools at the Main Operating Base and deployable locations.
3. Managing Test and Measuring Equipment, ensuring regular mandated servicing schedules.
4. Engaging with third-party contractors for tool management and control.
5. Maintaining electronic maintenance records and forecasts accurately.
6. Enforcing all Health & Safety measures and MAA compliance.
7. Working pattern is based on a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday, subject to change based on business needs.
Responsibilities
The Tools Storekeeper will be responsible for the same tasks listed above, ensuring compliance with MAA policies and effective store management.

Essential Criteria
* Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and solve problems practically.
* High-quality service delivery with attention to detail and efficiency.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Effective team working and communication skills.
* Good organization and time management skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience within the Defence Air Environment and knowledge of MAA engineering practices.
* Experience with aircraft tools management and maintenance.
