Overview
This is a part-time Technician Aseptic Services (cancer services) role at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Working with the Pharmacy Aseptics team to supply high-risk injectable medicines to the infusion suite and chemotherapy Day Units. The role forms part of the Pharmacy Department on the two main hospital sites, with regular meetings to ensure up-to-date practice and effective liaison across sites. There is flexibility in working hours to support team needs. You will contribute to the Team Vision: "Providing Quality Aseptic Services to Ensure Safe and Effective Patient Care" and be a good team player committed to improving patient experience.
Responsibilities
* Supervise other staff within the aseptic process
* Manage the training and validation of staff
* Release high-risk medications to point of administration
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals
* Use computer systems to supply and release high-risk injectable medicines
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services is essential
* Accredited checking qualification
Requirements and Standards
* Follow Health and Safety standards in compliance with Trust policies and procedures
* Report all accidents, incidents and near misses
* Deal with hazardous chemicals (including cytotoxic drugs) in accordance with COSHH regulations
* Attendance of all mandatory training
