SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT – GR9014

Scale D point 5-6 – Permanent £20,130 - £20,449 Actual per annum

Hourly Rate £ £13.47 (£25,583-£25,989 FTE)

(Depending on experience)

34hrs a week, term time plus one week only

Required for – November 2025

Sidestrand Hall School is a Complex Needs school providing education to pupils aged 7-19 years. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant, with a genuine passion for supporting students with a variety of complex special educational needs.

Pupil Profile: Varied, including speech and communication difficulties, autistic spectrum condition, social and emotional mental health needs, and learning difficulties.

Responsibilities:

* Provide support to learners with a range of complex special educational needs.
* Support students with speech and communication difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, social and emotional mental health needs, and learning difficulties.
* Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment.
* Assist in the delivery of tailored educational activities and interventions.
* Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
* Contribute to the assessment and tracking of student progress.

Candidate Profile:

* Enthusiastic and motivated individual with a genuine interest in working with learners with special educational needs.
* Flexible approach to work, able to adapt to the varying needs of students.
* Experience and understanding of special educational needs, autistic spectrum disorder, and safeguarding.
* Highly motivated with a commitment to supporting student development.
* Excellent teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
* Committed to their own professional development, with a willingness to learn and grow in their role as a Teaching Assistant.
