Offer description

Technica is an independent engineering and construction company solving complex challenges for the UK and international energy sectors. We deliver turnkey, multi-disciplinary projects — from design through to build — with control, confidence and care.

Our ‘Why’:
“Technica believe in long-term relationships. We want our clients to have total trust that we’ll deliver excellence in our solutions to their engineering problems.”

We’re entering a bold new chapter, underpinned by a 5-Year growth strategy that will see Technica evolve, expand and play a leading role in the energy transition. We’re looking for people who want to build something meaningful — for themselves, our clients, and our sector.

Why this role matters

Technica is looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our team and contribute to some of our most exciting and important engineering projects. This isn’t just about learning technical design — it’s about helping shape how our clients experience working with Technica.

From day one, you’ll be part of a supportive engineering team, bringing ideas to life through real-world design work. You’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on projects while learning from some of the most experienced EC&I professionals in the industry.

This role is ideal for someone who:

* Enjoys solving technical problems and bringing clarity to complex challenges
* Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in the quality of their work
* Wants to grow in a dynamic sector with the support of experienced mentors
* Understands that great engineering isn’t just about technical drawings — it’s about delivering a positive client experience

You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of engineering activities, including specifying instrumentation, supporting control system design, and working with other disciplines to integrate solutions.

We don’t expect you to know everything — but if you’ve got a solid foundation knowledge, a proactive attitude, and a desire to learn, we’ll support you every step of the way.

Join us and grow your engineering career at Technica — through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to design excellence as we deliver our 5-Year Strategy.

How you’ll Contribute

As a graduate engineer, you’ll support the delivery of electrical or control and instrumentation designs from concept through to final sign-off — helping ensure every detail meets technical requirements and client expectations, while developing your skills and understanding through hands-on project experience.

You’ll:

* Work alongside an experienced engineering team with either an electrical or control & instrumentation focus, with guidance and mentoring provided throughout
* Identify key client requirements
* Ensure designs are accurate and in accordance with current standards, legislation and client requirements
* Support team members with technical issues/queries
* Prepare, check and approve various engineering designs, calculations, drawings & documentation
* Assist in the preparation of project plans
* Specify equipment and prepare datasheets
* Liaise with internal team members
* Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors (after a period of guidance and training)
* Attend internal and external meetings
* Carry out work in a safe and effective manner
* Attend Site surveys
* Work to company, client, national and international standards and regulations

What you’ll bring

* Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Degree required (ideally accredited by the IET/InstMC).
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work well within a team
* Have a creative approach to problem solving
* Able to self-motivate and work on your own initiative
* Ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary team
* To be thorough and pay attention to detail
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Previous experience of working in a team
* AutoCAD skills, or similar design software knowledge
* Strong Design skills and knowledge

What you’ll get

* £29,500- £39,500 salary, based on experience
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
• Private healthcare (plus family options)
• Company pension
• Death in Service & Critical Illness cover
• Work from our Grimsby Head office
• Recognition scheme & genuine commitment to your development

Ready to contribute with trust?

This isn’t just another graduate design role — it’s your opportunity to make meaningful contributions, grow your skills, and build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues from day one.
