Join us and enjoy training, learning opportunities, wellbeing days and personal development workshops designed to help you grow professionally and personally. ​ Job Purpose and Overview ​​ ​ The main purpose of this role is to work independently to provide support across the firm on any issues relating to potential risk from money laundering, understanding when matters of concern should be escalated. The postholder will shape policy, support colleagues, and work closely with regulators—while fostering a culture that’s both vigilant and collaborative. You will ensure that all legal and compliance aspects of the firm including SRA, GDPR, Anti Money Laundering are appropriately adhered to and also contribute to the review of procedures and practices that provide the guidance to ensure compliance. ​ ​ Key Tasks, Knowledge and Accountabilities Have a working knowledge of latest AML legislation Have an advanced understanding of our AML manual and mortgage fraud guidance Receive enquiries over source of funds and source of wealth from staff and advise what further information is required and if all information provided consent to the transaction proceeding Receive and review any reports of possible Politically exposed people and those subject to sanction and advise the fee earner on next course of action. Receive and review any questions over evidence of Identity ​Make reports to the National Crime Agency if there is suspected money laundering Keep central record of all suspicious activity reports from staff and guidance given Liaise with Money Laundering compliance officer with any questions Work with the Money Laundering Compliance Officer to ensure that all staff are adequately trained and aware of their obligations to report to MLRO Assist the Money Laundering Compliance Officer in the Review of legislature changes and in implementing amendments to our Practices Controls and Procedures including Anti money laundering manual, Practice Wide Risk assessment and any other relevant policy documents. If necessary to assist in the creation of new PCP Changes in legislature includes consideration of LSAG guidance, High Risk Third Countries, CLC guidance, OFSI and Statue. This is not an exhaustive list To provide or arrange training arising from the changes in legislature and pass on any information to the relevant staff and ensure that a Training record is kept that could be reviewed by Regulators To manage the annual Legal Eye audit and implement any changes arising from that audit ​ Person specification Analytical, precise, and always alert to emerging risks Able to communicate complex regulatory issues in a clear and practical way A natural trainer who's great at explaining regulations to staff Strong organisational skills Excellent time management skills Strong prioritisation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to deal with difficult customers Ability to deal with complex matters Excellent telephone skills Good attention to detail Team player Able to work on own initiative A willingness to learn​ ​ What we offer you ​ A Flexible working environment ​ We offer a number of flexible working options to staff, which allow them to balance their individuals needs with those of the business The flexibility to take annual leave from as little as one hour at a time We also operate a flexitime working system providing flexibility with hours of work Lunchtime closure across the firm with one hour lunchbreak ​ Salary and benefits ​ We offer a competitive salary within a salary scale that allows ongoing progression A starting annual leave entitlement of 31 days (including bank holidays) increasing by a further 2 weeks with service Additional 1/2 day off on your birthday Full-time hours which are lower than many employers at 35 hours per week over Monday to Friday We operate a non-contractual bonus scheme which you will benefit from after completion of our “settling in” period Structured personal development and progression pathways Collaborative team environment Mental health and wellbeing support This role will be based at our Beech House office Will consider part-time hours ​ Ready to Join Us?
