Wallace Whittle are leading Environmental Building Services Consulting Engineers who are looking to recruit a Degree Apprentice MEP Design Engineer to work on engineering design for large and iconic construction projects across the UK.\n\nThis is a full-time position based in Edinburgh, offering a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to gain hands-on experience while pursuing academic qualifications.\n\nThe role supports day-release attendance at university to work towards a degree, allowing learning to take place both practically and academically. Applicants who hold Advanced Higher qualifications or an existing HNC may be eligible for direct entry into the degree programme.\n\nCandidates will also benefit from continued professional development through the Companyâs WW:Academy initiative, which provides structured training and growth opportunities tailored to support long-term career development. You will learn to assist a team of engineers and technicians with the production of engineering drawings and assist in the production of 3D and 2D drawings using computer software.\n\nYou will learn about the preparation of engineering calculations and the importance of initially checking your own work.\n\nYou will contribute to providing solutions to design problems, assist in meeting agreed deadlines, and support the administration of projects.\n\nYou will gain industry experience by attending meetings and site visits/surveys with Senior Engineers or others in the design team.\n\nYou will increase your skills, knowledge and confidence in the role by attending and participating in company activities, presentations and workshops.\n\nYou will be required to keep your training log up to date and attend training/Continuous Professional Development where appropriate.\n To be eligible for this position candidates must hold one of the following qualifications:\n\nâ¢\tA HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.\nâ¢\tOther related HNCs may be considered based on relevance to the role.\nâ¢\tApplicants with academic achievement in multiple Advanced Higher subjects will also be considered and may qualify for direct entry into the degree programme.\n
