Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Vacancy – Independent Garage
1. Location: Ilkeston
2. Basic Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on experience
3. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm
4. 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:00am – 12:30pm

6. Basic salary up to £43,000 depending on experience, with potential to increase for senior technicians or MOT testers
7. OTE earnings of up to £44,000 including bonuses
8. Four paid training days per year, along with funded MOT qualification training if required

Duties for the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role
15. Conduct servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicles including vans and cars
16. Support the wider workshop team with technical expertise, diagnosing complex issues
17. Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer standards and safety regulations
18. Assist with MOTs if qualified; training provided for those working towards or wishing to obtain an MOT licence
19. Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction
20. Support continuous improvement through shared knowledge
Candidate requirements for the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role:
21. Qualified Vehicle Technician (Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent)
22. Experienced in diagnostics, repairs, and vehicle servicing
23. Confident working on Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs)
24. MOT licence preferred but not essential; training available for the right candidate
25. Proven experience as a Master Technician or senior technician supporting team development
26. Reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment
