Job Description Finance Manager – Permanent– based in Northampton, NN4 Job Purpose: As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of core financial operations across a group of three diverse businesses. You will manage key areas including VAT compliance, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting. This role combines hands-on financial management with strategic oversight and requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with experience in multi-entity finance environments. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the month-end process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Compile and present management accounts for senior leadership review. Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations. Process and manage monthly payroll accurately and within set deadlines. Lead annual budget preparation and forecasting, including variance analysis against business objectives. Prepare consolidated year-end accounts and deliver accurate financial reporting across the group. Produce timely and detailed cash flow forecasts for all businesses. Support statutory compliance obligations including PAYE, P11Ds, and Corporation Tax documentation. Maintain accurate financial records across different cost centres and business entities. Work closely with operational, e-commerce, and product development teams to ensure accurate and insightful reporting. Provide financial insights to support strategic planning and business case development. Person Specification: AAT Level 3 qualified (minimum) or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of management accounting in a multi-entity environment. Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, etc.). High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate financial data. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. Professional integrity and discretion when handling confidential information. Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Sage or Zoho Books. Knowledge of SaaS metric reporting and CRM system integrations. Experience: Previous experience in a finance or management accounting role within a multi-entity organisation is essential. Demonstrated ability to manage payroll, prepare management accounts, and deliver accurate cash flow forecasting. Experience producing consolidated accounts and working closely with operational teams to support financial decision-making. Experience working in SaaS, e-commerce, or subscription-based business models.
