Court Usher
Location: 85 - 87 Lady's Lane, Northampton,NN1 3HQ
Office based
Hourly rate: £12.21 p/hr
Working Days/Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Contract: This a temporary position estimated until 30th September 2025 but due to be extended pending performance and business needs
Brook Street in partnership with the Ministry of justice has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as Court Usher. This is great opportunity to gain valuable exposure/experience working within the Public Sector.
Experience Needed/desired:
1. Dealing with customers
2. Time management
3. Basic IT skills
4. Are able to deal with difficult customers
5. Proactive/active as on floor
6. Multitasking
List the duties/ responsibilities:
7. Set the court rooms and chambers with water and lists
8. recording duty
9. Team briefing
10. Using software
11. Date entry - find the names of barristers
12. Printing
13. Messenger for court room if required
14. Check people in to hearings
15. Finding people to get into the hearings
16. Arranging specialist requests
17. Receiving solicitors and court users
18. Post room duties
Clearance level (to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application):
Enhanced DBS
Training provided, what is their training plan and location of training:
Associates will be shadowing other court ushers and e-learning.
Additional clearance if applicable:
Please note that period of 6 months or longer spent outside of the UK in the last 5 years will unfortunately require an additional overseas police check, this will be the responsibility of the candidate to provide.
