Deburrer / FinisherReporting to: Cell LeaderContract: Permanent; 39 hours a week; Monday to Thursday; 8:00am - 5:00pm (Early finish on Friday, 8:00am - 1:00pm)Department: ProductionLocation: Welham Green, HertfordshireDescription, Essential Skills and ExperienceOur client is a long-established UK manufacturer and supplier for the design and production of gearing systems and specialist gearboxes. Established in 1886, the company have been long associated with the supply of precision gears to companies across the world. Certified to AS9100 Rev D and accredited to Nadcap special process EDM machining.
They are a specialist in the aerospace and defence power transmission field and has an “in-house” design and technical department to call upon for the development, prototype and manufacture of systems and assemblies for commercial, medical, military and aerospace industries.General:Identify correct procedure to remove burrs from components using available tools including hand tools and machines where necessary.Identify and understand use of different tools to deburr each new component.Understand all deburring methods and in some cases, identify a process of trialling each until most suitable method is found for that component.Good eye for detail with excellent hand/eye coordination to ensure satisfactory results.Machines to be set and operated (training will be provided where needed):Drilling Machine (for light countersinks / edge breaks etc.)Lathes for polishing and deburringVacublast (Beadblaster)Sanding BeltGratomat Gear Chamfering MachineHoning MachineRoll-markingThis job description is not intended to be a complete list of your responsibilities and tasks may be added or removed at any time to suit the needs of the business.Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies:Must have excellent attention to detail.Experience of working in a similar role in manufacturing / engineering environment.Benefits:25 days holidayCompetitive pension plan (employer contribution 6%)Life AssuranceTPBN1_UKTJ
