Service Engineer – Workshop based, Charlbury, Oxfordshire. Monday to Thursday 08:30–17:00; Friday 08:30–16:00; 37.5 hours per week.
Hands‑on mechanical engineering role with long‑term job stability and security, regular pay reviews, and genuine development opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Stripping, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding mechanical components and systems
* Fault‑finding and carrying out repairs on customer equipment
* Functional testing of serviced and repaired equipment
* Preparing hire equipment and carrying out checks before dispatch
* Completing inspection reports and service paperwork accurately
* Maintaining workshop standards, tools, stock and test equipment
Skills & Experience
* A mechanical engineering or workshop background
* Strong fault‑finding and hands‑on mechanical repair experience
* Experience working within a service, maintenance or repair environment
* Good communication and report‑writing skills
* A practical, team‑focused approach with good attention to detail
* Hydraulics or fluid power experience is an advantage
