About the Role
We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised legal practice, for a specialist NDA role based at their Newcastle Legal Delivery Centre. This is a well-established and highly regarded hub that works alongside lawyer teams around the world, deploying knowledge, technology, and process expertise to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
The Corporate team at the Newcastle centre handle Non-Disclosure Agreement reviews on behalf of a range of clients — both on a dedicated hotline basis for Private Equity clients, and as part of wider sell-side deal processes. This role sits at the heart of that operation.
The successful candidate will be a fee-earning member of the team, taking ownership of NDA work and contributing to the broader delivery of legal services across the centre. For a paralegal with a genuine interest in corporate transactions and a desire to develop deep expertise in NDAs, this is a standout opportunity.
The Team
The Newcastle centre is home to a well-established paralegal support team spanning a wide range of seniority and specialisms. As an NDA Specialist at Senior Paralegal level, the successful candidate will collaborate day-to-day with paralegals, apprentice paralegals, senior and supervisory paralegals, managing paralegals, operations managers, legal technology advisors, and process architects.
The role also involves regular direct contact with associates, lawyers, and business professionals based in offices across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out NDA reviews end-to-end, including initial mark-ups and subsequent rounds of negotiation.
* Apply and interpret client playbooks and negotiation positions accurately when reviewing NDAs.
* Support the day-to-day management of NDA hotlines and sell-side projects.
* Contribute to quality control processes and assist with training colleagues on NDA-related matters.
* Keep internal tracking systems up to date and provide timely progress updates to stakeholders.
* Work proactively to identify and drive improvements in systems, processes, and ways of working.
* Embrace and integrate legal technology into service delivery, continually developing skills in this area.
* Contribute positively to the culture of the team, supporting an inclusive and welcoming working environment.
Day-to-Day Tasks
The core of the role centres on NDA work, including:
* Reviewing and drafting both buy-side and sell-side NDAs, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
* Maintaining trackers and providing updates as required throughout deal processes.
* Supporting colleagues with quality checks, offering constructive feedback and guidance.
* Assisting with the management of hotlines and deal projects as needed.
On an as-and-when basis, the role may also involve:
* Due diligence work.
* Drafting transaction documents and letters.
* Preparing transaction bibles.
* Proofreading and cross-reference checking.
* Redacting and e-disclosure.
* Use of legal technology platforms including Kira, HighQ, Relativity, and Contract Companion.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* A minimum of two years' experience as a paralegal with either corporate or commercial experience.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt style and approach to different audiences.
* Excellent research capabilities and the ability to follow detailed instructions and produce thorough, accurate outputs.
* Highly organised, with a proven ability to manage daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines without compromising quality.
* Proactive, forward-thinking, and genuinely motivated to learn and develop.
* Comfortable working with a range of technology platforms and eager to develop legal tech skills further.
* Strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach to working within a team.
Desirable:
* Fluency in a European language — particularly French, German, or Italian — would be a distinct advantage.
