A prep school in Richmond is seeking a full-time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a Year 5 pupil with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). This 1:1 Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for someone calm, caring, and proactive, with a genuine interest in supporting children’s academic and social development. As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will help the pupil access lessons, adapt tasks to suit his needs, and encourage participation in both classroom and co-curricular activities. You will provide support in core subjects as well as in Games, Drama, and Music, helping the child build confidence and progress academically and socially. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Physiotherapists.
