Senior Till and Customer Service Assistant
42.5 hours per week, full-time position, including alternate weekend working.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for guiding your team towards achieving organisational goals while maintaining high standards of service and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Support
· Assist in the analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly transactional reports.
· Help resolve discrepancies and support cash and banking reconciliation processes.
Customer Service
· Support the till manager in ensuring the till team delivers exceptional customer service.
· Assist in handling customer queries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
· Monitor and improve customer interaction processes at the tills.
· Support in the training of staff to maintain high service standards.
Management Support
· Assist in organising weekly staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage.
· Support the use of trading pattern reports to align staffing levels with peak trading times while maintaining sufficient cover for breaks and holidays.
· Help address HR issues such as sickness, lateness, and performance, and assist in planning for seasonal recruitment.
· Aid in holiday planning to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Operational Responsibilities
· Assist in monitoring till hardware and report any faults.
· Support in ensuring vigilance to reduce theft and maintain security standards.
· Help ensure compliance with data protection and consumer legislation policies.
· Assist in maintaining a clean and organised work environment
· Assist in ensuring retail standards are exceptional in all areas around the tills and customer service desk
Till Operator Responsibilities:
When not assisting the Till Manager or covering their duties, the Senior Till and Customer Service Assistant (Supervisor) will focus on processing customer transactions.
· Operate the tills accurately and efficiently
· Accurately handle cash, credit cards and other payment methods
· Follow all cash handling and security procedures
· Process refunds
· Offer excellent customer service when processing transactions
Other Duties
· Perform additional reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
