Our wonderful teacher librarian is retiring, leaving a library - which is the heart of our school - looking for a new lead.
Te Kura Tuarua o Tawera | Darfield High School has an opportunity for a teacher or library manager who loves matching books to rangatahi. The successful applicant will have a love of libraries, which they can turn into a thriving library culture, and their capacity to lead our highly capable library team of two staff and many volunteer students.
As a semi-rural school close to Christchurch, at the heart of our community, our development programme is based on a strong vision. We’re in the midst of PB4L, restorative practices, curriculum reform, and cultural capability development. We have a growing roll of 820 students, Y7–13, most of whom are very well supported from home and well connected to their school; some need us to adapt our practice to meet their needs.
Terms and conditions of employment are covered under the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement.
Due to the specific cultural requirements of libraries in Aotearoa, applicants from overseas will not be considered.
