Métier is a luxury leather goods house dedicated to creating beautiful bags and accessories of the highest quality. Thoughtfully designed with different journeys in mind, our collections are intended to work together to enhance the function of each piece and to afford those who use them an effortless sense of ease.
Founded in 2017 and based in London, Métier sources materials from exclusive tanneries in Italy and France; all production is done by hand by skilled artisans. We are a small team with global ambitions - Italian manufacturing, a US trading subsidiary, and customers around the world - and we are growing fast.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, the Sales Director will lead the commercial performance of Métier’s DTC business across ecommerce and retail.
This is a rare opportunity to join an already proven luxury brand at a pivotal stage of growth and help scale the business globally. Working closely with the CEO and Creative Director, the Sales Director will play a central role in shaping the next chapter of Métier’s growth journey.
The Sales Director will lead four teams: ecommerce, retail, customer experience and performance marketing. The role also works closely with other senior leaders in the business, including Head of Merchandising and Head of Brand.
This is a role for a highly commercial leader - someone naturally driven by sales, growth and performance in a luxury environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Commercial & Trading
* Own the DTC P&L and deliver against ambitious revenue and profitability targets
* Lead the commercial trading calendar across ecommerce and retail
* Drive growth through strong trading decisions, product focus, customer insight and channel optimisation
* Constantly identify opportunities to improve conversion, AOV, retention and customer lifetime value
* Develop and execute initiatives that drive both customer acquisition and repeat purchase
* Lead weekly and monthly trading analysis, forecasting and performance reporting
* Build a highly commercial and growth-focused culture centred around pace, accountability and results
* Partner closely with merchandising and product teams to maximise sell-through and commercial opportunities
* Use customer and trading data to inform decisions and identify growth opportunities
Ecommerce & Omnichannel
* Lead the ecommerce business with accountability for growth, profitability and customer experience
* Improve the integration between retail and ecommerce to create a seamless omnichannel customer journey
* Partner with Retail leadership to improve store productivity, clientelling and service standards
* Support the business’s ambitious international retail rollout plans and ensure readiness for growth
CRM, Marketing & Customer
* Lead customer acquisition and retention strategies across relevant channels
* Build a more sophisticated CRM and VIC programme to increase customer loyalty and repeat purchase
* Improve customer insight and reporting to support better commercial decision-making
* Ensure all customer touchpoints reflect the standards and positioning of the Métier brand
* Partner closely with the Head of Brand to align commercial and brand priorities
Leadership
* Lead, develop and scale a high-performing team across ecommerce, CRM, marketing and retail
* Introduce greater structure, accountability and pace across the commercial organisation
* Build scalable ways of working, processes and reporting to support international growth
* Operate as a trusted commercial partner to the CEO
Who You Are
* An experienced commercial leader with a strong track record of scaling DTC luxury brands
* Deep expertise across ecommerce trading, CRM, customer acquisition and omnichannel retail
* Strong understanding of digital performance marketing, conversion optimisation and customer lifetime value drivers
* Highly commercial, with proven experience owning revenue targets, forecasting and DTC P&L performance
* Strong trading instincts with the ability to use customer, trading and performance data to drive decision-making
* Experienced building and leading high-performing teams in fast-growth, founder-led businesses
* Hands‑on, execution-focused and comfortable operating at pace within a scaling environment
* Internationally minded, ambitious and excited by the opportunity to help build one of the next globally recognised modern luxury brands
