Your Expertise. Our Green Future. Thriving Communities.
At Curo, we believe trees are more than just part of the landscape – they're vital for cleaner air, climate adaptation, wildlife habitats and creating places where people genuinely want to live. We're looking for someone who shares that passion and wants to help us grow our tree population by 30% over the next 10 years.
This isn't about removing trees at the first sign of trouble. We need someone who understands that trees have incredible value and would consider all avenues to promote longevity, while managing risk responsibly. After all, you'll be making decisions that will benefit communities for generations to come.
Working across our 9,500+ communal tree stock, you'll survey, plan and protect our green spaces while helping us meet ambitious environmental targets that make a real difference.
What you'll be doing
* Planning for the future by conducting cyclical and reactive surveys across our entire estate, assessing health, species and condition
* Making informed decisions about tree care and maintenance, judging the impacts of disease, pests, structural defects and human impact, always looking for ways to preserve and enhance our tree stock
* Managing our tree database using Ezytreev software and GIS, recording precise species and health data and prioritising works based on genuine risk assessment and estate functionality
* Managing all planning application requirements and correspondence
* Working with contractors to deliver all arboricultural works to best industry standards and ensuring best value for our customers
* Responding to resident/stakeholder queries and concerns about trees, helping them understand the benefits trees bring to their communities
* Leading tree planting and wider green infrastructure projects ensuring successful establishment and aftercare
* Identifying opportunities to increase biodiversity and create better wildlife habitats across our estates
What you'll get in return
Beyond a competitive salary of £34,000 and the chance to make a lasting environmental impact, you'll get:
* 26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
* Your birthday off as an extra holiday
* Up to 10% matched pension contribution
* Essential car user allowance of £900 annually
* Free parking at many of our locations
* Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
* Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your wellbeing
More about you
We're looking for someone with genuine passion for trees and the environment who can balance preservation with practical risk management. You'll be proactive and self-motivated, comfortable making decisions independently in a role that combines office-based planning with outdoor surveying work.
* LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) qualification
* Post-qualification experience in arboriculture or tree management
* Excellent tree identification skills and knowledge of pests and diseases
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Strong communication skills for working with residents and contractors
* Level 3 in Arboriculture (or equivalent)
* Experience with tree database systems and GIS
* Membership of the Arboricultural Association or similar
* Evidence of continued professional development
About our interview process
We use a two-stage process including an in-person interview, followed by a practical on-site surveying exercise. This helps us see your skills in action and ensures the role is right for you.
