Summary We’re looking for a Service Assistant to join us at Fountains Abbey, Ripon, to help our busy Welcome Team. Salary: £12.25 per hour Duration: Fixed Term until 30th September 2025. Hours: 832hrs per year pro-rata, averaging 16hrs per week (4 x 4hr shifts) on a fixed term contract running until 30th September ’25. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each week may vary dependant on weather, as this is a mainly outdoors role. Your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the duration of the contract. The working pattern would be starting at approximately 11am and finishing at 3pm, to include both weekend days and bank holiday working, which can be discussed further at interview. What it's like to work here Joining our friendly Welcome Team, you’ll be playing a key role in the visitor experience at Fountains Abbey. We are a leading destination within the National Trust and welcome 450,000 visitors each year. This location is in a rural area near Ripon, so please think about how you would get here for work, before applying for the job. What you'll be doing Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listening to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. This includes working at our lakeside car park in Studley Royal Deer Park. Our team are also key in providing equal access to the estate and are responsible for issuing mobility vehicles to visitors. It is a large estate, so it is important to feel comfortable being out and about in the grounds, moving between our three admission points.
