Position Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Team Leader (Weekend Nights) is responsible for the coordination and leadership of the maintenance team currently on shift. They will liaise with the production team leader to achieve manufacturing targets specifically around plant availability and PM completion.
Role Responsibilities
* Ensuring equipment availability is in line with departmental targets.
* Managing team holidays and absence in line with company policy and procedure.
* Ensuring that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
* Engaging in root cause analysis of repeat/major breakdowns and providing reports with suggested improvements.
* Engineering out previous issues following a continuous improvement mind-set and methodology.
* Facilitating the PM schedules and making recommendations for improvement, delegating through the team to ensure KPI compliance.
* Supporting internal customers with technical issues.
* Complying with all corporate practices, procedures, and policies related to occupational safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while conducting maintenance processes.
* Attending training when required and adhering to CCUK and Magna standards.
* Applying 5S methodology in the work area and wider factory.
* Driving departmental and company goals and objectives.
* Promoting and setting a positive example in alignment with Magna Employees Charter, Corporate Constitution and Divisions Mission, Vision, Objectives, Goals and Values.
* Supporting management with ad-hoc projects as required.
* Coaching, mentoring and undertaking annual appraisals of team members.
* Planning and organizing work shifts for timely completion of all maintenance activities.
* Leading a team and delegating work functions to them.
* Organising job training activities for all team members.
Essential Experience
* Previous experience in a maintenance function
* Time-served apprentice in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
* Willingness to multi-skill
* Ability to delegate to skilled workers
* Report writing skills
* Experience in fault finding from electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic schematics
* Good Microsoft package (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Ability to communicate technical issues and conduct start-of-shift briefs
* 5S experience
Desirable Experience
* Qualification in both electrical & mechanical discipline
* Educated to HNC/HND in related discipline
* Experience within the Castings sector
* Health and Safety accreditation
* Experience of Tier 1 Automotive supply
* Previous experience leading a technical team

Working Environment
Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing environment. Full Health and Safety training and PPE provided for all conditions.
