About the role:
Manage and control a trailer fleet, coordinating closely with Network Operations to enhance efficiency and safety. Responsibilities include vehicle and trailer tracking, fuel consumption reporting, driver behavior monitoring, and fleet maintenance management following company policies and guidelines.
* Oversee approximately 730 core trailers and 240 hire trailers (as of 2023, 558 core and 264 hire)
* Book and plan service events for trailers
* Operate under WM operator license
* Manage VOR trailers in the network
* Maintain electronic databases for sales, registration, inspections, and maintenance
* Provide technical guidance to managers and staff
* Prepare weekly service and MOT reports
* Challenge lead times with suppliers and create hold plans
* Locate trailers and liaise with network and workshops
* Develop data management systems for fleet organization
* Establish and maintain relationships with external transport providers
* Coordinate with external service providers and influence other departments
* Authorize work and defect reports
The ideal candidate will have:
* Transport National and International Certificate of Professional Competence
* O’Licence for the business and hub
* Experience level: 4+ years
* Experience in Fleet and Trailer Management
* Knowledge of transport legalities
