Job Description:
Automation Community of Practice Lead
Location: London, Norwich, York or Bristol
Are you passionate about transformation? Do you have a consultative mindset? Are you interested in deploying the latest tools and technology to automate and digitise processes including enabling GenAI? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Change professional to lead our Automation Community of Practice.
A bit about the job:
The Finance Automation Lead will define our automation strategy and lead a Community of Practice to coordinate transformation efforts across Aviva’s global Markets and Group Functions. You will support solution design and report benefits to senior stakeholders. Reporting to the Global Head of Aviva’s in-house transformation team for Finance, you will need to be a self-starter supporting Finance in its transformation objectives. The role involves working closely with IT and Risk colleagues, managing a team in the UK and India, and leading change professionals and data engineers to build automated solutions, including ETL processes, workflows, and GenAI. Ensuring deployment of future-proofed Finance processes is essential.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Technical knowledge of data engineering and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Appian, Dataiku, WTW Unify), R and Python (development skills not required), ETL technologies (Informatica, AWS Glue, Snowflake, PostgresSQL), data visualization tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau), system architecture and integration.
* Soft skills include a consultative mindset, problem-solving, a natural self-starter, collaborator, leader, strong communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Strong project management skills with Agile methodology experience.
* Transformation experience from management consultancy or in-house change, working with business and technical stakeholders.
* Knowledge of Finance processes and associated risk and control environments.
What you’ll get for this role:
* Salary: around £70,000 (National) - £85,000 (London), depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
* Bonus: 12% of annual salary, based on performance.
* Pension: Up to 14% contribution from Aviva, depending on your contribution.
* Additional benefits include holiday entitlement, discounts, share plans, policies supporting parental and carer’s leave, flexible benefits, volunteering days, and wellbeing support.
