Overview

EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer on our HMCTS contract at Bradford Combined Court. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of mechanical and electrical building services engineering plant, ensuring all activities are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with contracted output specifications and EQUANS processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities. Basic plumbing skills would also be part of the role.

Key accountabilities include ensuring routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and CAFM, completing reactive tasks, keeping plant faults and defects remedied promptly, managing spares, and providing parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works. The role also requires maintaining up-to-date paperwork/CAFM records for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works, and ensuring risk assessments and method statements are prepared and used for all tasks.

To develop good working relationships with EQUANS staff, subcontractors, and client representatives, maintain a safe and healthy working environment, uphold a professional image of EQUANS, keep plant rooms clean and tidy, and ensure compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA.

The role may require lone working, holiday/sickness cover at short notice, and participation in a 40-hour Mon-Fri schedule with additional call-out rota responsibilities. You will provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business continuity.

To operate a Permit to Work system in accordance with EQUANS policies and client requirements and to undertake any other tasks as directed by account management.

Responsibilities

* Carry out Mechanical Engineering tasks and support adherence to company quality standards, specifications, and workmanship schedules.
* Maintain and care for all company tools; wear appropriate clothing/uniform; keep work areas clean and tidy.
* Coordinate with the account team to complete tasks to agreed quality standards; manage subcontractors in line with health & safety legislation.
* Ensure up-to-date plant logs; manage site-based documentation; ensure areas under EQUANS responsibility are maintained to required standards.
* Support helpdesk with planned and reactive maintenance as required; be available for out-of-hours call-out when needed.
* Operate the Permit to Work system; ensure safety documentation (Method Statements & Risk Assessments) is prepared and followed.
* Provide holiday and sickness cover as required and undertake lone working when approved after training.
* Ensure awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA and CAFM data accuracy (e.g., Maximo).


Qualifications or Required Experience

* Desired circa 5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Engineer within an FM environment.
* City and Guilds - Mechanical Engineering Services NVQ Level 2 or higher.
* Excellent communication skills; proactive in achieving high operation standards.
* Proficient IT and report-writing skills; ability to work under pressure and meet client deadlines.
* High initiative and willingness to continuously improve operations.
* Full UK driving license (current and valid).
