BAM Infrastructure is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Section Engineer.
Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required. A BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5‑Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Your mission
* Manage the preparation of as-built drawings.
* Establish effective systems to record work completed and update the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
* Manage in‑managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.
* Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork and more.
* Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
* Set out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
* Check setting out points and benchmarks; ensure all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
* Ensure workforce understands setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
* Prepare sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels for effective understanding.
* Maintain setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction of the work.
* Record instructions and maintain drawing register.
Who are we looking for?
* A degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent (BSc, BA, BEng, MSc, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship).
* SSSTS.
* CSCS White PQP/AQP.
* May be working towards Chartership / Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body.
* Experience in a similar role.
