In this role, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and commissioning of works, ensuring all activities meet strict safety, quality, schedule, and budget parameters. You will act as a key interface between the client, contractors, stakeholders, and project teams, driving performance and ensuring seamless coordination across all phases of the project.
Note: This role requires SC clearance or eligibility to get one.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Managing and overseeing all commissioning activities, ensuring successful delivery within a regulated, nuclear/defence environment.
2. Providing project management support across all RIBA stages, ensuring compliance with MOD project delivery requirements.
3. Directing and coordinating readiness activities with delivery teams to achieve commissioning milestones.
4. Ensuring all works are delivered to the required quality, safety, time, and cost parameters.
5. Facilitating regular cross‑project meetings to track progress and resolve issues.
6. Coordinating with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure fully aligned and integrated service delivery.
7. Operating and contributing to early‑warning systems, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
8. Managing statutory, regulatory, and planning interfaces to enable smooth progression to completion and handover.
9. Establishing and maintaining project management procedures, communication plans, and project execution strategies.
10. Directing change‑control processes, monitoring impacts on design, cost, schedule, and risk.
11. Producing accurate project reporting for senior management and client teams.
12. Promoting safe working practices by leading health, safety, and compliance behaviours across all commissioning activities.
You’ll need to have:
13. Proven experience as a within regulated industries (nuclear, defence, energy, or equivalent).
14. Qualified commissioning professional with experience delivering complex projects with multiple services and interfaces.
15. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and people‑management skills.
16. Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritise effectively, and operate under pressure.
17. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CSCS, degree in project management/engineering/construction).
18. Professional accreditation desirable (e.g., RICS, APM) or working toward equivalent status.
19. Experience working with NEC suite of contracts and knowledge of commissioning requirements in complex-built assets.
