About the Role - Financial Controller/ Finance Manager
People Dynamix Education are seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join a leading Further Education College on a temporary basis.
This is a key leadership position within the College's Finance & Corporate Services Directorate, responsible for ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and strategic oversight across the College Group and its subsidiary companies.
You will play a crucial role in maintaining the College's financial integrity-providing accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting, leading the finance team, and supporting strategic decision-making at senior leadership level.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Finance function, providing both operational and strategic leadership.
Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and annual management accounts in line with statutory and audit requirements.
Develop and maintain robust financial systems, ensuring compliance with funding and financial regulations.
Support the College's annual business planning and budgeting process, including profitability, cashflow, and capital expenditure forecasting.
Consolidate subsidiary company accounts into the College Group's financial statements.
Provide financial insight and advice to the Senior Leadership Team, Governing Body, and subsidiary Boards.
Line manage and support the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Deputise for the Vice Principal - Finance & Corporate Services when required.
What We're Looking For
Fully qualified CCAB Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Proven success in a senior financial management role-ideally within education or another public sector setting.
Strong understanding of funding methodology and statutory financial regulations for the education sector.
Demonstrable experience in budget planning, group consolidation, and financial control.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office and financial management systems.
