A local authority in the South East is seeking an interim senior Contracts Lawyer to support its commercial and procurement work. The council is strengthening its internal legal capability and requires an experienced professional who can operate as the lead specialist for complex commercial matters. Your new role
You will act as the primary advisor on commercial contracts and procurement issues, supporting a wide range of stakeholders. Your work will include:
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and framework agreements
* Advising on procurement strategies, compliance and risk
* Supporting improvements to internal processes, templates and governance documentation
* Managing complex matters independently with minimal supervision
* Providing clear, practical legal advice to service areas across the authority
