Assistant Manager - Erdington - Part Time
Role Purpose: You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager, operating and running the shop and managing the shop team effectively. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include assisting the Shop Manager and team with the smooth running of the store, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the day while accepting and paying out bets and delivering excellent customer service. The role encompasses opening and closing the business and, in the Shop Manager’s absence, managing the shop’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Shop Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the shop and the shop team.
* Lead from the front in managing the operation and running of the shop, including:
o Opening and closing the shop
o Managing and guiding the shop team
o Cash management procedures
o Managing and utilizing the company Time and Attendance system while ensuring adherence by the shop team
o Leading by example and driving the team to keep and maintain shop presentation standards
o Encouraging colleagues to share ideas to improve processes
o Staying focused on shop results to identify opportunities and keep the team working at high standards
o Providing outstanding customer experience for customers
o Educating and guiding the team to deliver excellent customer service
o Accepting bets accurately and processing customer bets through multiple channels, including betting terminals and EPOS system
o Acting as a Brand Ambassador by introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journey
o Ensuring shop adheres to all operational procedures, including cash management and security procedures
o Adhering to Social Responsibility duties

Desirable Skills and Experience
* 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor retail experience
* Industry experience welcomed but not essential; full training will be provided
