About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Active Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer who can hit the ground running and deliver high‑quality service across a range of life‑safety systems. You’ll be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding, and minor repairs of: * Fire Alarm Systems * AOV (Automatic Opening Ventilation) Systems * Emergency Lighting * FFE (Fire Fighting Equipment) We work with a wide range of systems, so experience with platforms such as Protec, Advanced, and FireClass is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities * Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and testing of fire safety systems. * Diagnose faults and complete remedial works efficiently. * Respond to call-outs within agreed KPI timeframes. * Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant standards and regulations. * Provide clear, accurate reporting and documentation. * Deliver excellent customer service while representing the company on-site. What We’re Looking For * Proven experience as a Active Fire Service or Fire Alarm Engineer. * Strong technical knowledge across fire alarms, AOVs, emergency lighting, and FFE. * Familiarity with systems such as Protec, Advanced, FireClass, or similar. * Required Qualifications & ExperienceIndustry Training & Competency * FIA (Fire Industry Association) training in Fire Detection & Alarm Systems (Units 1–4) Electrical & Technical Qualifications * Level 3 Electrical Installation (City & Guilds or equivalent) * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – desirable * ECS/CSCS Card for site access AOV & Smoke Control * Competency or manufacturer training in AOV/smoke control systems (e.g., SE Controls, WindowMaster, Colt) * FIA or equivalent training in Emergency Lighting * BS 5306 Fire Extinguisher Service & Maintenance certification (for FFE work) * Manufacturer training on systems such as Protec, Advanced, FireClass (or similar) * Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. * Full Clean UK driving licence.
