Overview
The FA are excited to hire an Emerging Talent Head Coach for our Women’s Talent Pathway team. The Talent Futures Programme delivers residential camps and in‑situ development for talented girls aged 13‑16 who face barriers to inclusion, bridging the gap between non‑academy pathways and national opportunities. This role is a fixed‑term contract, ending December 2028.
Responsibilities
* Lead a series of residential Talent Futures Camps for players aged 13‑16.
* Lead and manage a multi‑disciplinary staff team to deliver child‑centred high‑quality environments, helping players transition from the Futures Programme into WU15‑WU17 squads.
* Support delivery of a parent education and engagement programme.
* Recruit and upskill five Talent Mentors for the Residential Camps.
* Provide technical coaching at Pathway Regional and National events, focusing on Futures squad players.
* Lead in‑situ sessions for identified players who show potential for WU15/WU16 squads.
* Provide insight and attend England Long List player selection and grading events.
* Act as an England Development Team Coach when appropriate.
* Build in‑depth knowledge of talented players and design bespoke support to address barriers.
* Mentor players into their first England camp.
* Work closely with FA Regional Talent Managers and FA Talent ID Coaches on strategic planning and delivery.
* Network with stakeholders to identify players facing inclusion barriers.
* Support Regional Talent Managers in expanding the Youth National Team player pool by targeting players facing barriers.
* Gather insights on barriers for under‑represented groups and share best practices.
* Utilise a central tracking system to monitor individual progress.
* Use data and insight to target regional hotspot areas and support identification of talented players.
* Collaborate with the FA's Technical Team on the implementation of the Women’s Technical Strategy.
* Execute additional tasks as required to meet changing priorities.
* Comply with all company policies to maintain health, safety, and well‑being standards.
Qualifications
Essential Knowledge:
* UEFA B License
Essential Experience:
* Leading player development programmes within a club environment.
* Working with talented players who have faced barriers.
* Delivering individual and group sessions to support progression.
* Transitioning talented players to the next stage of their trajectory.
* Working with local partners and stakeholders to engage historically under‑represented groups.
* Planning, implementing, and managing successful holistic talent programmes/pathways.
* Identifying talent and potential through game insights, with excellent reporting and analysis.
* Analysing talent pathway activities to increase development interventions.
* High‑level people development skills and experience.
* Influencing and building positive working relationships.
* Demonstrating work within elite football/sports environments.
* Deep knowledge of technical and tactical components of the game.
Essential Technical Skills:
* Advanced Microsoft Office.
* Ability to use Smartsheets/Excel.
* Ability to create presentations and present to stakeholders.
Beneficial Knowledge:
* UEFA A License.
Beneficial Experience:

* Detailed knowledge of the women’s game.
* Experience and knowledge of international football.
* Problem‑solving skills.
