Our Major Injury and Casualty team at DWF and are currently hiring for a Paralegal.
The Major Injury and Casualty team act for a large number of insurers, many of whom are household names, dealing with complex, catastrophic and large loss claims. The team handle a range of files including Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters.
The role is hybrid, and the successful individual will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in our Birmingham office.
Responsibilities
* To assist senior team members on a varied defendant Casualty caseload
* Drafting court documents and adhering to strict deadlines
* Conducting investigations, gathering evidence, preparing advice to clients, identifying medical experts and preparing instructions
* Reviewing medical records and other case related documents
* General day to day administration tasks including keeping the case management system up to date and in line with client service level requirements
* Providing the highest level of client care at all times
* To a satisfactory and speedy settlement in accordance with the client requirements
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
* Previous experience assisting a defendant personal injury caseload including Employers Liability, Public Liability and catastrophic injury work
* The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, whilst working to strict deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to quickly and carefully analyse files and sensitive data
* Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Relevant Legal qualifications e.g. LLB, LLM, LPC
Desirable
* Previous knowledge of working with Visual Files case management system
* Demonstrable knowledge of the importance and use of Management Information
