Senior Support Workers Required for Children’s Home in Basildon Essex SS14
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with emotional and behavioural disabilities? We are currently recruiting Senior Residential Support Workers to join our dedicated team on the edge of Basildon (on a bus route).
Our new home supports 6 to 18 year olds with EBD and challenging behaviours (Ofsted Regulated). The new team will offer huge support and you will be encouraged to develop and progress.
Senior Support Worker Duties
* Supporting and managing the staff team to meet the needs of the young person
* Planning each shift and ensuring resources are allocated appropriately
* Working with external professionals to deliver positive outcomes
* Providing supervision and support to staff in line with Quality Standards
* Supporting the young person to engage in education
* Ensuring their health needs are met
* Providing advice, support and guidance
* Managing complex behaviours and crisis intervention
* Administering and recording medication
* Maintaining daily records and administrative work
* Contributing to the care planning process
* Liaising with external stakeholders and our multidisciplinary team
* Attending mandatory training
* Engaging in team meetings
* Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping, cooking, etc.)
Senior Support Worker Requirements
Please note applicants MUST meet the following requirements:
* Able to work Full time
* A full UK driving license (preferred)Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
* An understanding that this role will require that you undertake Enhanced DBS checks
* You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins with full-time and part-time hours being available.
* Experience working and supporting 5-18 year old with EBD & challenging behaviour
* You will have some experience supporting children or young people with EBD.
* Seniors MUST have NVQ level 3 Children Residential plus 2 years Support Work experience(Children 's)
Salary and Shifts
* £14.50 per hour to £15.50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
* plus £50 sleep shift pattern normally 2 on 4 off but subject to change
* 42 hour weeks
* Full induction and introductory programme
* Fully funded training and qualifications
* Enhanced pay scales that recognise both qualifications and experience
* Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check paid for by us
* 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
* Hourly rate increase for bank holiday working
* £50 per sleep in payments
