We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative Regional Insights Lead t o join our Energy Systems team—supporting the transformation of our electricity network as we enable Net Zero and help build a smarter, greener energy future.
As part of the directorate shaping our Distribution System Operation (DSO) transition, you’ll lead our engagement with local authorities, public sector organisations, businesses and low carbon technology providers—helping to align regional infrastructure planning with the needs of the communities we serve.

Along with a competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience) we also offer great benefits such as;

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
~ Lead our Regional Insights team to act as a front door to the business for a range of key stakeholders with a significant role in delivering a net zero region (including local and combined authorities, social housing providers, low carbon technology installers, public sector organisations, businesses and funding bodies).
~ Lead on an effective engagement approach and subsequent process improvements that enable collaboration on joined up infrastructure planning for the net zero transition and clean economic growth.
~ Evaluate and recommend changes that explicitly link local authority action plans to connections processes and investment planning.
~ Build and maintain high quality managed relationships with key regional low carbon transition connections customers like electric vehicle charge point operators and housing authorities installing heat pumps.
~ Externally influence design and delivery of policy (national and local) relating to collaborative energy planning at a regional level.
~ Advocate for stakeholders’ needs of the energy network over time internally and with other relevant bodies, to spearhead positive change over short-, medium- and long-term horizons.Systematically link local authority and key customer engagement, gathering appropriate intelligence, to our long-term forecasting activities and other routine publications describing decarbonisation and investment needs.
~Develop open data and information provision for stakeholders delivering regional decarbonisation via a range of mediums and tools.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Strong relationship management and effective communication skills including the ability to collaborate with others (at all levels) in order to cultivate good working relationships; internally and externally with influential low carbon stakeholders.
A proven people manager with strong performance management capability and experience of developing a high performing team focused on continuous improvement.
Proactive in dealing with people issues and challenge, setting out accountabilities and giving clear direction.
Experience of leading and managing change and assisting others in interpreting the impact of changing business priorities, adapting and re-aligning team priorities as appropriate. Demonstrates accountability and drive to achieve results pushing work to successful completion.
Strong written and spoken communication skills – clear, concise, engaging and persuasive.
Strong analytical skills to interpret information and apply judgement to decision making.
Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
~ Energy sector experience and knowledge of the decarbonisation of energy
~Experience in the electricity distribution sector
~ Experience in local government, social housing organisations or other stakeholder environments
~Professionally qualified with a strong understanding of Electrical Engineering principles
