Role Purpose
1. Identify, develop and implement schemes, works and projects in relation to the maintenance and / or development of the Council’s infrastructure, evaluating proposals for prioritisation within the overall programme of works and producing designs and specifications for implementation
Responsibilities
2. Identify and evaluate potential schemes and projects in relation to the maintenance and/ or development of the Council’s infrastructure, produce designs and specifications for prioritisation within the overall programme of works
3. Produce build quality drawings and specifications for approved projects for handover to Contract Management for delivery purposes
4. Conduct surveys, inspections, investigations or site visits following the necessary procedures and proposing and implementing necessary remedial action
5. Manage the consultative and quality assurance processes with relevant stakeholders throughout all stages of the project life cycle
6. Maintain and update the Asset Register with relevant details and information following completion of works
7. To keep abreast of relevant legislative, technical and professional developments to enhance the effectiveness of services provided
8. Provide expert advice, guidance and up to date information on relevant aspects of service provision to internal and external stakeholders
9. To exercise effective financial control and budget monitoring
10. Assist with the identification of future schemes and programmes, and associated funding bids
11. Contribute to the development of strategies, policies and operational plans for Environment and Enterprise, providing advice and guidance on relevant issues
Requirements
12. Strong experience in CPZ development, design, and public engagement
13. Proficient in CAD software (not a CAD technician role)
14. Previous experience working within a Council environment, with a solid understanding of the political landscape
15. Must have a valid UK driving licence, access to a car, and appropriate insurance to conduct site visits
16. Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
17. Recognised professional engineering qualification or able to demonstrate relevant experience
18. Evidence of continuing professional development
19. Membership of relevant professional body
20. Possession of a full, clean UK current driving licence
