Our client, a leading manufacturer in North West Manchester are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join the business on an ongoing contract basis to cover long term sickness. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in Project Management, with the ability to take projects from kick off through to delivery. Candidates will be required to manage all aspects of the projects engaging with Purchasing/ Planning/ manufacturing and Shipping. Candidates will have experience working within a Manufacturing Engineering/ Assembly based environment - Experience with Valves/ Pumps/ Gearboxes/ Oil and Gas Manufacturing would be advantageous. Experience working with SAP would also be highly advantageous. Hours - Monday - Friday 8AM - 4PM This role is available for an immediate start. Responsibilities * Review the order, organize and lead a kick of meeting (KOM) with all involved people (PM, customer, Sales and/or Operations) before or immediately after the order is placed to the factory. * Make sure the project requirements are communicated and properly understood by the factory. * Develops manufacturing milestone execution plan and inspection test plan (ITP) with help of corresponding dept (planning and QA/QC) * Coordinates all the factory actions related to the given project. * Liaise with Material Requirement Planners, Quality and Logistics teams to keep the project on-time * Monitor project progress and execution to meet the promised date. If needed, expedites the different functions at the appropriate level. * Evaluate and Implement the changes, as required by change order process. * Provides regular and timely progress reports to the Project Manager/Customer /Sales and highlights any deviation. * Prepares the inspection and shipping schedules, ensuring the project is shipped on time. * Work closely with Documentation Controller to ensure timely approval of Project relevant documents * Leading pre-inspection meeting (PIM) and notify/coordinate the Project Inspections. * Manages the customer/ their representatives factor visits at factory. * At the time of project closing, summarizes all learning points, makes suggestions and supports continuous improvement programs. Shares any project lesson learning points with internal team. * Participate in the development of internal systems and procedures and look for continuous improvement opportunities. * Performs other given tasks when required.
