A majorly backed Manufacturer based in Worcestershire are looking for Material Planner to join their growing Planning team. A strong Material planning background in a Manufacturing environment is the ideal candidate for the business. Job title: Material Planner Salary: up to £40,000 per annum great benefits package Location: Worcestershire (commutable from North Birmingham, Droitwich, Worcester, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster) Responsibilities for the Material Planner:- Ensure parts and materials are available to support production plans across all manufacturing areas by running and maintaining the MRP system. Raise and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, resolve shortages, expedite as needed and work with Procurement, Quality and other teams to resolve supply issues. Create and maintain short- and medium-term production schedules in line with the Master Production Schedule, monitoring performance and adjusting to maintain customer commitments. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and excess inventory, review slow-moving and obsolete stock and recommend actions, including for new product introductions and phase-outs. Work closely with Logistics to ensure inventory is correctly identified, labelled and booked into stock in line with standard processes. Provide on-the-job training, coaching and best-practice guidance to other planners in the team. Ensure Health and Safety standards for incoming materials are communicated and followed and comply with all H&S requirements associated with the role. Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as required by the business. Requirements of the Material Planner:- Significant experience in a Materials and/or Production Planning role within a manufacturing environment, with strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. Proven ability to manage complex BOMs, long lead times and multi-stage manufacturing processes. Demonstrable experience as a Key User or Superuser for an MRP/ERP system (SAP) Extensive experience working in a material planning function with excellent organisational and time management skills. Experience driving change and contributing to Continuous Improvement, including root cause analysis and developing pragmatic solutions. This is a great business to grow and develop with.
