Contracts Manager
Central Birmingham
Full-time, 36.25 hours per week (8:50–16:50 or 7:50–15:50, Monday–Friday):
£35,000-£40,000 Depending on experience
A well-established specialist manufacturing company in central Birmingham is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
This is a pivotal role within the organisation, responsible for overseeing contracts from conception to completion, ensuring smooth communication across departments and delivering projects on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact between the company, architects, and main contractors
* Manage design queries through meetings, RFIs, and regular communication
* Review and understand project programmes to align manufacturing and installation schedules
* Arrange and oversee site surveys when required
* Brief internal manufacturing teams on all project requirements
* Manage CAD/drawing production and issue drawings for client approval
* Coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring full understanding of project details
* Oversee material procurement and monitor the full manufacturing process
* Prepare RAMS and method statements
* Produce monthly applications for payment, including vesting certificates where applicable
* Manage and cost project variations
* Attend site meetings and oversee on-site installation activities
* Prepare and negotiate final accounts
* Compile and issue O&M manuals
* Identify snags and ensure completion within project timelines
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Contracts Manager role xsngvjr or strong relevant experience
* Knowledge of joinery and/or architectural metalwork
* Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, committed approach
* BTEC, HNC, NVQ or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline
