System and Architecture (Automation) Engineer:
Schneider Electric is looking for an experienced Automation Engineer for targeting new infrastructure at Industrial End Users.
We are looking for a self-motivated, entrepreneurial candidate that has strong technical abilities, as well as commercial acumen for a customer-facing role working side by side with our Sales team. You must have a great ability to learn and embrace new technologies, good interpersonal skills, be dynamic, flexible, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer experience.
Previous experience in similar roles is required and an Electronics, Electrical, Software or Chemical engineering degree is preferred but not required. We offer great opportunities for training and personal development in the field of Automation technology and opportunities for career growth.
Your objective is to build relationships with our prospective customers and create value and differentiation by providing system & architecture expert pre-sales support.
Responsibilities:
* Introduce and promote the complete industrial automation Hardware and Software offer in terms of strengths, value, and possibilities.
* Develop architecture designs and support the customer or the system integrator throughout the development of a project and, at times, during commissioning.
* Provide recommendations advising the customer on advanced issues (Principles, feasibility, limits & constraints, performance, …)
* Answer deep technical questions on integration/compatibility of components inside an architecture.
* Build proof of concept demos to help the customer visualize the main solution concepts
* Assist on trade shows.
* Share Success Stories and Best practices with the team and the community.
* Schneider Electric has an extensive Hardware and Software offer and some of the technologies the candidate would be required to support are Modicon M340, M580 (Standard, Safety and Hot-Standby), X80 I/O, Harmony HMI, Altivar inverter drives, Tesys Island, AVEVA Software and Scada, Industrial Networks, etc.
* The role requires the candidates to hold a driver license and be available to visit customer sites across the country with a company car. Candidates based anywhere between the North of England and the Midlands are preferred, but we welcome applications from other locations as well. The role is 'travelling appointment', with a balance of time spent at customers site, at the Schneider Electric Coventry Innovation Hub and working from home.
