Kew Green Hotels / Holiday Inn Colchester is offering an opportunity for a candidate to enrol as an Apprentice Deputy Kitchen Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient, effective, and profitable kitchen service that complies with all Health & Food Safety requirements. You will lead, develop, and motivate your team of Line Chefs to create a positive work culture and ensure all brand and company objectives are met.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
1. Ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, complying with food safety regulations.
2. Supervising, training, and motivating the team to achieve company standards and comply with Food and Health & Safety regulations.
3. Achieving budgeted food gross profit.
4. Ensuring all food is served to the required company standard.
5. Assisting the Head Chef in planning and implementing new menus.
6. Managing stock levels and ensuring commodities are on site to service hotel guests.
7. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
8. Anticipating and reacting to customer needs to enhance satisfaction.
9. Ensuring team members are correctly dressed and adhere to high personal hygiene standards.
10. Completing 6/13 week job chats with new employees and evaluating outcomes.
11. Supporting 6/12 month reviews, setting objectives, and personal development plans.
12. Devising and implementing training plans for the department.
13. Preparing and checking departmental rotas to meet staffing and budget requirements.
14. Participating in monthly stocktakes and addressing discrepancies.

Apprenticeship Highlights
You will gain a nationally recognized Level 3 Senior Production Chef qualification, receive onsite training, develop life skills, and boost confidence.
Eligibility to become an apprentice
Must be 16 or over, not in full-time education. Previous qualifications, including degrees, do not disqualify you from starting an apprenticeship.

* Learn and train for a specific job
* Get paid and holiday leave
* Gain real job experience
* Study at least 20% of working hours
* Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
