YOUR MISSION
Accounting and Reporting
1. Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for UK legal entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
2. Review and approve journal entries, maintain general ledger integrity, and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Prepare statutory financial statements under UK GAAP / IFRS.
4. Assist in streamlining and improving close processes to enhance efficiency and reduce timelines.
5. Ensure fixed asset registers are accurately maintained.
Inventory Accounting
6. Maintain accurate inventory balances.
7. Apply appropriate costing methods in line with group policy and accounting standards.
8. Reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger and investigate variances.
9. Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate stock valuation and reporting.
Intercompany Accounting
10. Ensure all intercompany transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
11. Reconcile intercompany balances monthly and resolve discrepancies.
12. Communicate intercompany positions to group finance and ensure alignment with global reporting requirements.
Audit Support
13. Coordinate and prepare audit schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
14. Act as the day-to-day contact for auditors, ensuring timely responses and resolution of queries.
15. Implement audit recommendations and support control enhancements.
Compliance, Governance, Risk & Tax
16. Prepare and submit VAT returns and support indirect tax compliance.
17. Assist external advisors with corporation tax computations and filings.
18. Support HR and payroll teams with P11D, PSA, and PAYE-related reporting.
19. Maintain documentation for statutory filings and ensure timely submissions.
20. Contribute to the financial risk register by identifying and documenting operational risks.
YOUR TALENT
21. ACA / ACCA
22. 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, ideally auditing within retail, fashion, or consumer goods.
23. Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
24. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
25. Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions focused.
26. Passion for sports and lifestyle brands is a plus.
