Role Purpose At Lancaster Gate Assistance we offer market – leading claims services to the motor industry, focusing on two wheeled vehicles. We are currently looking for a transport assistant to join the transport team on a full time – permanent basis. The transport team plays a crucial role in facilitating the delivery and collection of motorbikes to clients across the country. Key Accountabilities To liaise with clients in relation to booking in the deliveries and collections of hire motorbikes. (via phone or email). Making sure clients have the correct documentation to proceed with delivery. To arrange collection of the clients damaged motorbike if needed or to explain the collection via a third-party company. Discussing and resolving any mechanical or technical issues with their hire motorbikes. Dealing with our drivers if they encounter any issues on the road or with clients. Chase any outstanding jobs on our inhouse system. Bookings of breakdowns, tyres, hotels, and general van maintenance. Dealing with incoming calls and queries from teams within the business. Dealing with emails and incoming calls from clients. Making payments over the phone. General admin duties. To support the rest of the team. Carry out reasonable tasks as requested by your manager. Experience & Requirements Previous transport experience would be advantageous but not essential – training will be given. Demonstrate a high level of proficiency when dealing with customers on the phone. Excellent administration and customer service skills. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Organisational skills. Ability to work unsupervised while using own initiative and part of a team. Adaptable. Previous experience of using Microsoft packages. Pro active approach to problem solving. Polite telephone manner. Attention to detail.
