IT Services Manager | Somerset, South West England | Hybrid
Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Location: Somerset, South West England (On-site 2 days a week)
This role is best suited to an I.T. Services Manager with around 5-8 years I.T. Service Management experience, ideally managing a Systems Administration Team.

🧭 Role Purpose
As the IT Services Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering high-performance, compliant, and cost-effective IT services. Leading both the IT service delivery and system admin teams, you’ll ensure safe and efficient operations that align with strategic business needs.
You’ll serve as the primary IT contact, collaborating closely with project stakeholders and business leaders, conducting regular service reviews, implementing improvements, and ensuring successful transitions from delivery to operations.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
✅ Manage and maintain service support for key project requirements
✅ Provide intelligent oversight for all infrastructure and applications—ensuring regulatory compliance
✅ Collaborate with suppliers to close service gaps and ensure robust delivery
✅ Monitor and enforce SLAs aligned with business objectives
✅ Identify and implement service improvement opportunities
✅ Recommend cost-effective delivery models aligned with business drivers
✅ Escalate and resolve IT service issues through structured communication
✅ Manage service performance metrics, reporting, and compliance
✅ Coordinate change management with minimal business disruption
✅ Oversee third-party contracts and ensure successful service transitions
✅ Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects
✅ Build strong relationships with stakeholders and third-party providers
✅ Deliver clear, timely reports, financial tracking, and risk assessments
✅ Drive a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence
🧠 What You Bring
✔ Degree in IT, Computer Science, or relevant field
✔ Accredited in ITIL, Prince2, APMP, or equivalent
✔ Eligible for security clearance (BPSS or higher), ideally you will have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years and have permanent residency
✔ Strong background in system administration and IT service delivery
✔ Proven record of managing large-scale IT operations and budgets
✔ Skilled in vendor management and third-party collaboration
✔ Expertise in SLA development, compliance, and service assurance
✔ Confident using tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, and agile frameworks
✔ Excellent communicator with high emotional intelligence and influence
✔ Strong commercial awareness and analytical thinking
✔ Driven by a passion for innovation, sustainability, and quality delivery
✔ Able to manage multiple stakeholders and projects in parallel

📍 Location & Working Pattern
* You’ll be expected to work on site just 2 days per week
* If you live more than 1.5 hours away, you may qualify for a travel allowance
* If you need to stay locally to attend the office 2 days a week, a local accommodation allowance is available for eligible employees
Qualifications
Degree in an I.T. related subject with ITIL certification
