Role Overview
As Floor Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the studio floor. You’ll manage a team of machinists and a quality controller, ensuring that every garment produced meets the highest standards of craftsmanship, efficiency, and quality.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong leadership, exceptional organisational skills, and deep technical knowledge of garment construction. Your ability to resolve issues quickly and maintain a positive, high-performance studio environment will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities
Management & Leadership

Lead and manage a team of machinists and a quality controller.
*
Recruit, onboard, and train new machinists for production.
*
Conduct regular performance reviews and offer feedback.
*
Organise and facilitate training sessions to upskill the team.
*
Foster a positive team dynamic and ensure collaboration to meet deadlines.
Operational Excellence
*
Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
*
Ensure machinists have the correct trims and materials to avoid downtime.
*
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe studio environment.
*
Allocate resources effectively to meet production targets.
*
Maintain all equipment and organise timely repairs as needed.
Accountabilities
You will be directly responsible for:

On-time completion and delivery of all production projects.
*
Consistent quality of all finished garments.
*
Cost control in garment production.
*
Reducing repairs and recuts.
*
Adherence to health and safety regulations in the studio.
Qualifications & Experience
*
Must have experience in garment manufacturing.
*
Extensive understanding of garment construction, machinery, and sampling.
*
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
*
Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
*
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (desirable).
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Location Requirements:
Applicants must be able to commute reliably to or relocate near the N15 area of London before starting.
